Usually the height of the door is not a big deal because the majority of patio doors for pets self-adjust using a spring loaded mechanism. You will also need to take the measurements of your dog or cat. The width and height of your pet is important because you don't want a door that is too small for them. The Internet is a vast resource for all kinds of pet supplies including pet doors. You might also want to research some training tips for after your door is installed. While most dogs and cats enjoy using a pet door it may take some getting used to. By patiently showing them the purpose of the door and how it works you can coax them into using it. Once they understand the pet door is their way in and out of the home they should have no problem using it.
